Cap Ferret Villas and Houses for Sale

Villas, houses, apartments and, from time to time, building plots: we sell across the Cap Ferret peninsula, in Andernos-les-Bains and in Arès. On the Bassin d'Arcachon side, the peninsula is a string of oyster villages, harbours and beaches; on the ocean side, it is forest, dunes and long beaches open to the Atlantic. The villages of the peninsula

Lège

The historic village and seat of the commune, Lège is the gateway to the peninsula. Le Corbusier designed a workers' housing estate here, built in 1924.

Claouey and Le Four

Claouey, a seaside resort of the 1920s and 1930s, has a grid of straight streets. Le Four is thought to have had a tar kiln, used to caulk pinasses, the local boats.

Les Jacquets

This small oyster harbour, tucked into a cove, takes its name from jaquet, the Gascon word for woodcock. The painter Émile Brunet lived here.

Petit and Grand Piquey

Their names mean "little dune" and "big dune" in Gascon. Petit Piquey shares the "rue de la déco" and its shops with Les Jacquets; Grand Piquey has the Pointe aux Chevaux beach.

Piraillan

Its former fish reservoirs, owned by the Conservatoire du littoral, have been a protected site since 1943. The roof of its covered market mimics the waves.

Le Canon

The village is named after a 19th-century cannon still visible in the cove. On 15 August, boats are blessed here for the Fête de la mer.

L'Herbe

Narrow lanes wind between the cabins. The neo-Moorish chapel of Sainte-Marie-du-Cap, a listed historic monument, is a remnant of the Villa algérienne.

La Vigne

Its vines, planted by Léon Lesca, were still being harvested in 1938. The marina replaced his fish reservoirs in 1960.

Cap Ferret and the 44 Hectares

The village at the tip has its lighthouse and its ferry to Arcachon. In its southern part, on the Bassin side, the 44 Hectares, once state forest, hides its houses along private woodland lanes.

And around the Bassin

We also sell in Arès, with its salt marshes, and in Andernos-les-Bains, with its 232-metre jetty and the Bétey harbour (articles in French).
